The Caregiver in MidLife: Where their needs end and yours begin
Ellen Besso's book is not about practical "how-to's", although you will find some useful tips in it. Instead it is a book that examines the life of the midlife woman who is caregiver to an aging parent. As Ellen writes in her introduction
"This is a book about change. It is about digging a little deeper into yourself... questioning... asking yourself if you are happy with the choices you are making in your life."
Life Coach and Counsellor, Ellen Besso is caregiver to her mother and she shares with the reader her own personal & ongoing journey. She is unfailingly honest in her portrayal of herself as daughter & caregiver in midlife and she writes candidly about the joyful, frustrating and sometimes painful experiences.
"The Caregiver in Midlife" is an insightful book about who today's midlife woman really is. That perspective is skilfully intertwined with helping you become the person you were meant to be while coping with a role you were not prepared for. There are also exercises and worksheets designed to help change the stressful thinking about yourself and your life, and provide you with workable plans.
"The Caregiver in Midlife" will not only enlighten, it will be an ongoing source of reference and guidance as you strive to understand and meet your changing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs at this time in your life."

Bankima Crafts
Bankima Crafts is a small non-profit society owned by Ellen’s friends Jjumba and Lara.
In Uganda , many of the children do not reach their full potential due to the lack of education. Bankima Crafts, aims to make a difference by raising money for child and youth education in Uganda. They import Ugandan arts and crafts and sell them at 'fair trade' prices in Vancouver, British Columbia. With the proceeds, three boys are now being put through secondary school in Kampala. Though currently a small organization there is tremendous potential for growth at the grassroots level in Uganda. Shop at their Bankima crafts website.
